"With a soaring reliance on IT services, augmented by developing economies such as China and India, the global growth for data production and storage means that energy guzzling data centres must rapidly establish a more sustainable model for operating. The surge in cloud computing, the Internet of Things and the way we now live our lives confirms data centres as the physical presence powering our digital world."

"When it comes to saving the day, surviving various assassination attempts and still managing to get the girl, it seems it's all in the wrist. Many of our favourite on-screen superheroes, and even those baddies we love to hate, have ditched the utlilty belts in favour of some serious horological gadgetry."

"Data is everywhere. As highly connected internet, smart device and social media users, we’re generating more of it than ever before, and as a small business owner, your data is contributing to an ever expanding digital economy. "Files are a significant part of our working lives. Whether you’re sourcing the perfect stock photograph for your website, writing a sales document to win business, or editing a promotional marketing video, we all make use of items which fall under the term ‘digital assets’. With this comes the practicalities of storing such items… and then finding them again."

"For many consultancy businesses, hiring contractors is a large part of filling skills gaps, or drafting in additional expertise for a specific project; but for firms who fulfil contracts in the public sector, the routine hiring of external freelancers is about to get a lot more complicated. "When you’re a museum housing as many as 50,000 works of art spanning around 5,000 years, keeping track of such a diverse collection is no easy feat. Especially when sharing those treasures with a digitally savvy public audience is an important part of your manifesto. This was the challenge facing The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore. With around half of its collection now digitalised for public consumption, digital asset management is a key undertaking."

"For Finnish brewery company Olvi Limited, safety has never been better. And Lauri Multanen, Operations Director at the chain, credits part of that success to the implementation of EHSQ mobile application NordSafety. Discussing its previous records, Lauri says “We only had one minor accident within the past year, and NordSafety has been a very important part of the whole process within that time."

"For schools whose students board away from home and have a varied social calendar of events and excursions, it’s important to keep family members in touch. This has long been a challenge facing Scotch College in Western Australia, a leading private school housing 130 live-in students, and a total student body of over 1,500. The ultimate aim was to form a collaborative and inclusive system to gather and share photographs and videos of school life with parents, students and staff."
