Headmaster Mr Thomas reflects on the academic year so far, and gives his best wishes for the holiday season.
Cadets and students marked Remembrance Day with a service on Prefects' Lawn on Saturday November 11th - the CCF Head of Corps and Heads of Army and RAF sections accompanied the Headmaster, Chaplain and Heads of School in leading the two minute silence and playing of the Last Post.

Sutton Valence Prep School in Maidstone has achieved the prestigious Artsmark award in Gold from the Arts Council, recognising the School's excellence in art, drama, music and culture.
Upper Sixth Form leavers collect their A Level results from Sutton Valence School, with nearly 90% obtaining their first or second choice place at university. Our thanks to LBC News for attending to capture some live radio broadcasts.

A sell out run of musical Annie, performed in our Baughan Theatre, from First to Third Form perfomers.

The RTW Together Business Improvement District launched the 2022 Christmas advert for Royal Tunbridge Wells town centre. Featuring a couple of (very) VIP visitors, the short film highlights some royal occurrences during a festive day out.
The glossy video is a light-hearted play on the town's royal status, and has been viewed 12k times on Youtube.
Local videographer Simon Cossons was commissioned by Sarah-Jane to capture the two Christmas lights switch on events she brought to Royal Tunbridge Wells town centre in November 2022.This short film highlights both portions of the event, with Carols in Chapel Place, and Party on The Pantiles.

Halloween is a real scream in Royal Tunbridge Wells, as RTW Together released a promotional short film, giving visitors and residents a lighthearted scare for spooky season!
Covering a week of 50 free activities, in which 550 members of the public enjoyed a session, this short film was created to document the first Royal Tunbridge Wells Art Week, created by Sarah-Jane.The video also features the outdoor event which rounded off the week, with free face painting, glitter artists, balloon modellers, artist stilt walkers and colouring book giveaway.

To complement the inaugural Royal Tunbridge Wells Cake Off, brought to the town centre by Sarah-Jane, she commissioned a two-part 'Cakeumentary' to follow the contestants both in the preparation stages of the competition, and throughout the event itself.Episode one concentrates on the Cake Off concept and the businesses that are taking part.
Episode two of the Royal Tunbridge Wells Cake Off 'Cakeumentary' takes place on the day of the event, with cake tasting, live jazz music, free face painting and stilt walker entertainment, and hosting from KMFM. The video culminates in the reveal of the 2022 Cake Off Champion, who wins by just one vote!

Demonstrating that visitors can come to Royal Tunbridge Wells whatever the weather, Sarah-Jane created a 'music video' concept featuring vintage singer Miss Holiday Swing, recording an exclusive version of April Showers. Not allowing drizzle to dampen her day, the vocalist enjoys visits to numerous town centre locations during her musical rendition of this spring track.
The first Christmas advert for Royal Tunbridge Wells Together, the 2021 offering was designed to inform viewers that the town centre's Christmas lights are supplied by businesses, via RTW Together. To do this, Sarah-Jane put together a storyline in which Father Christmas visits businesses collecting light bulbs, before revealing the lights on during the evening, in a visual representation of the contribution businesses make to the scheme.

With a Christmas lights switch on event unable to take place in 2020 due to Covid lockdowns, Sarah-Jane produced the Secret Switch On, a pre-recorded and socially distanced hour long concert film going online on the evening the traditional Maidstone town centre switch on show would have taken place.
Performances from local singers and dancers were filmed in high profile venues around the town centre, out of hours and without an audience, combined to create an evening of entertainment. The livestream was watched by around 7k people.
Whilst Senior Communications Officer at Maidstone Borough Council, Sarah-Jane was given the opportunity to create a short film interviewing local Team GB gymnasts James Hall and Courtney Tulloch, as they prepared for their dream of Olympic selection.
(James Hall went on to compete in the Olympic Games in the summer of 2021.)
